Dimity freewheels into TPJ
It was straight into the deep end for me as Acting Campaigns Manager for TPJ, with two live radio interviews on our Healthy Checkouts campaign in my first week. Things don’t look like slowing down anytime soon either, with Healthy Checkout activity generating interest from retailers and the media alike. Stay tuned for updates!
Though I’ve come to TPJ after nearly 5 years with SunSmart at the Cancer Council Victoria, I most recently spent 12 months volunteering in Belize, a small, developing country in Central America just south of Mexico. I was based at the YMCA Belize working with inspiring young people from disadvantaged communities.
I am a loving aunty; qualified teacher and children’s sports coach; and apprentice nappy changer with a background in Health Promotion and Nutrition but my role as TPJ Campaigns Manager is not to voice my own views on children’s food and physical activity environments but to represent you, our TPJ members and supporters.
On that note, I look forward to an exciting year with you all. Please get in touch through all the usual channels to express your opinion on an issue, ask a question, share some information with us or just have a chat. We love to hear from you.
In the meantime, look out for me on my bike. I’ll be training for a five day charity ride from Adelaide to Melbourne in April next year.
